Our family run company is amongst the largest Hairdressing Apprenticeship work based training companies in the South of England.
We work with nearly 100 salons across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.
We are looking for eager and passionate Apprentices to apply for a position at any one of our salons. The ideal candidate will have good customer service and communication skills. No formal qualifications are required, as full training will be given.
You will work towards a level 2 or level 3 NVQ Diploma in hairdressing. The level 2 qualification will consist of the following units: Consultation; Shampoo, Condition and Treat the Hair and Scalp; Cut Hair; Style and Finish; Colour and Lighten Hair. You may also have the option to learn how to perm hair, relax hair or apply hair extensions.
The level 3 qualification will develop units already covered in level 2 and also consists of the following mandatory units: Creatively Style and Dress Hair and Creatively Cut Hair. You may also have the option to do any one of the following units: Cut Men’s Hair; Contribute to the Planning and Implementation of Promotional Activities; Develop and Enhance Your Creative Hairdressing Skills and Fulfil Salon Reception Duties.
All practical training will take place in the salon, on blockheads, real clients and models. Once a month, you will attend college where theory work will be taught. Functional Skills qualifications in both English and Mathematics will also be delivered, if necessary.
As well as completing the qualification you may also have the opportunity to become a full time stylist and compete in the annual Span Hair Up Competition.
Hours will vary from salon to salon but typically it will be between 30-40 hours per week.
Wages start at £3.50 per hour.
