This role will be dedicated to the Professional Beauty portfolio, the media platform for the UK's beauty, spa and nail professionals covering a range of events, publications and awards including -

- Professional Beauty Exhibitions – the industry’s biggest shows in London, Manchester, Dublin and Belfast – these events are recognised globally with our flagship London event attracting over 800 brands and in excess of 32,000 visitors

- Professional Beauty Awards – running in conjunction with the World Spa Awards, these events recognise talent from both the UK and around the world

professionalbeauty.co.uk – the industry’s online portal offering relevant and engaging content, the brand has a strong social media following and good levels of user engagement

- Aesthetic Medicine - the business-to-business magazine and exhibition for the discerning aesthetic professional

- World Spa & Wellness is the b2b magazine and events portfolio for the global spa and wellness industry

Running alongside the Professional Beauty brands is the hair portfolio which encompasses Hairdressers Journal International, Salon International, HJ Live, the British Hairdressing Awards and the British Hairdressing Awards in addition to our online portal www.hji.co.uk.


An exciting role selling across a diverse portfolio, we are looking for an exceptional candidate who is comfortable selling many products to a variety of clients. This job comes with a large database of clients so the ability to prioritise and develop innovative ways to cover all clients – and meet their needs - is crucial. From key accounts to those that have not yet been fully developed, we are looking for a committed person to join the team to increase the number of active clients, their average order value, and increase the number of products that they are using. Whilst achieving all of this, we also want to offer really high levels of customer service and develop strong relationships.

The role will demand both telephone contact and face-to-face meetings.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

- Build number of customers across the portfolio

- Maintain and develop existing active accounts and build strong relationships with key decision makers

- Maximise opportunities from all incoming business

- Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail

- Responsible for hitting all personal targets and forecasting

- Canvas customers from other publications, exhibitions, social media, online etc

- Record all conversations, emails etc on CRM system

- Send strong proposals/emails in a timely and well written way

- Achieve a minimum of 20 phone calls a day (when office based)

- Build market/client knowledge quickly

- Able to cross-sell effectively a variety of products/solutions over the phone

- Ability to build relationships both internally and externally

- Good time management

- Strong organisational ability

- PC literate

- Commercial acumen

- Highly motivated

Experience required

- Minimum of three year’s sales experience

- An understanding of B2B media would be useful but not essential

- A track record of success

- A blend of exhibition, print and online experience would be beneficial but not critical
